'I will establish the throne of his kingdom for ever' (2 Sam 7:13)
(From the Bible the work reference tracks produced by Mosaic School of Friuli and, in short, the comment / explanation of Paolo Orlando author of artworks .Ph: Ulderica Da Pozzo)
2 Sam 7.8-14
Now then, I tell my servant David: Thus says the Lord of hosts: "I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep, that you should be prince over my people Israel.
I have been with you wherever you went, I have destroyed all your enemies before thee, and make thy name great like that of the great ones on earth.
I will appoint a place for my people Israel, and will plant because it lives there and does not tremble as the evildoers and do not oppress them as in the past, and as from the day that I appointed judges over my people Israel. I will give you rest from all your enemies. The Lord announces to you that will make you a house.
When your days are fulfilled and you sleep with your fathers, I will raise up your descendant after you, come out of thy bowels, and I will establish his kingdom.
He shall build an house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. I will be his father, and he shall be my son.
If he commit iniquity, I will smite with the rod of men and beatings of human children.
The walls show the city of Jerusalem; you can see three sides of the boundary square, with three doors on each side, while the fourth side, ideally, is behind us; in the middle the throne of David, above the solar disk with the face of Christ.
The man who moves from the left and, holding out his hands bows down before the king, is the prophet Natan, who announced the renewal of the promise made to Abraham, made to Moses; the people will have its holy city, will have its political ruler and will be protected by God.
Seated and attentive, with one hand while holding a harp, to remember the Psalms he composed and still sung or read in all the churches, King David received the prophecy. Although a sinner, he will, by the grace and mercy, an heir who will save everyone.
And is prophecy for us. Prophecy of the future heavenly Jerusalem, lit by a sun that rises from Jesus. We too will be saved!
